Aliko Dangote – Nigeria’s Numero Uno Entrepreneur Speaks
Aliko Dangote of Dangote Group:
I believe in Nigeria. I believe there is always going to be Nigeria. My faith and belief in this country is unshakeable. We have to live together in peace and not in pieces. Why are we important in the world today? It is because of our population. Population and our oil. It is not because the world loves the name Nigeria. No. When was the last time you heard about Kuwait or Brunei? The importance of Nigeria is the market. The population is there. The money is there. It is just a matter of having good entrepreneurs who can push this thing forward…We are not a company that is owned by government. People are still doing business in troubled areas like Congo. In fact, Congo is one of the best countries to invest in. During the war in Liberia, people were still doing business. A friend of mine opened a flour mills six months ago in Cote D’Ivoire.

I also beleive in a Nigeria where the elite do not use the government as a tool to push trade restrictions that favor them. Business on a level playing feed.

Mr. Dangote must have a unique understanding of what the word “entrepreneur” means. I don’t think the operations of monopolistic conglomerates like the Dangote Group exactly qualify as entrepreneurial business. This post is all the more interesting when you consider how real enterprising Nigerians who would like to import commodities like sugar into Nigeria report that they are being intercepted by Dangote’s minions at the ports – customs officials and their ilk, doing Dangote’s bidding. The understanding is that Dangote must receive a large slice of any such business being conducted by anyone else. Come to think of it, under circumstances like this, who would not like to have lots of little entrepreneurs doing all the work for you? Of course the company is not owned by the government, it is really the other way around. What is truly amazing about the spirit of Nigerian entrepreneurs is that they are able to survive at all in this environment of corruption that is the Nigerian business world.

At times, i wonder why Nigerians open their month to criticise a gem like Aliko Dangote. Most people rather prefere to emphasize the negative side of successfull individuals irrespective of the their numerous acheivements.
Apart from the Federal Government of Nigeria,Aliko Dangote is the highest employer of labour in nigeria. If only we had few people like dangote, the problem of employment would have been highly reduced. He was born with a golden spoon in his mouth and he had the option of living in the ambience and comfort of his inherited wealth but rather choose to invest in his country and empower other Nigerians as well.
In a nut shell, i think Nigerians should learn to appreciate important icons like Aliko Dangote who has touched and affected the lives of all Nigerians in positive ways.

We are very proud that at last one of us has made it to the top.We have to start appreciating ourself and helping people like dangote attain even more height in business because it is the only way we can get respect and recognition worldwide.
We are often seen and percieved to be less succesfull in anything we do,but one thing we do succesfully is that we can emulate and do not be supriced if in the next 5 to 10 years time more and more Nigerians and African are billionares.
we have to take our own destiny in our hands. we have to invest in our country, in our children, and society at large. If more people do just like him, stop sending cash to foreign banks where they get even less respect as humans and invest a little bit at home then our country would look different in a short time.

Aliko simply, represents the height of business excellence i simply have so much respect from icon. His startup capital potrays a man with so much finacial discipline and dexterity . Over the years i have watched with delight and total awe at the level of growth experienced by dangote group of companies. The fact that his investments were very prevalent at atime when our political waters were troubled indicate a man with foresight and determination . A
The durability of goods produced by him show intelligence compared to that acquired from the best business schools abroad . This brilliance has endeared him to many and has made him monopolise markets, not with an aim to maximise profits!!!! not at all, rather to set standards for competitors that would ultimately make the consumer the true KING that he should be.
Aliko , i am proud to be a Nigerian because of you and i look forward to meeting you.May God continue to expand your empire and give you the energy to place Nigeria among nations where business flourishes.

JUST A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
Ther is a rawness about you dangote, the wonnder to life .
Pursue it, don’t sell out to get it..
Don’t listen to the whines of those who have settled for nothing.
Your goal is not to live long,it’s to live.
The option to your self shoulld be clear.
The fire in your heart should be warm.
Your impulse should be safety.
Teach the class,change careers
Run for office,make the difference
Sure it’s not all safe, but what it is?
Those who try to keep their lives will lose
But those who gave up their lives……….
Have save many to give you a better day.
Go on and congratulation on your appointment as the 15th NSE

If there is any truth about nigeria, it is that nigeria is still a virgin market waiting for true entreprenur like dangote to explore. I am happy i have a mentor ahead of me, cos you know what? I am coming! I LOVE NIGERIA! I AM PROUD TO BE A NIGERIAN!

There our one and only entrepreneur, in my opinion with the abundant gift of land to Nigerias ‘fertile to grown up almost every farm produce’ ,i suggest aliko dangote should seek government assistance and invest in agriculture since the government stories is never ending. In china, japan, malaysia and USA entrepreneurs contribute most to the economy with government comingup with supportive packages ..good luck.

Every one has spoken aright but from his or her own standpoint of view and understanding about what entrepreneurship is and what it is not!! Lets put hands together and encourage ourselfs as one people answer our questions, share the blame, dont pass the Duck, survive environment, succeed and breakthrough the huddles that stand before us as hinderance, these and more are more inportant to us than every other thing… blaiming corruption will only make the younger generation/ young ones to see our fears as a limitations, instead of the limitless opportunities that is arround us and surround us. Nigeria is great and the only way evil will exceed good is only when good people fail in doing what they should do that is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dangote has tried whether hoke or krook lets say he is an entrepreneur of what ever adjective you wana qualify him with, just try to become your own because the way people know that name you cant cancel his entrepreneurship, the thing don pass to open public like real pregenancy wey no body fit cover. God bless me
